This class will run Saturday and Sunday, August 16 & 17, from 11am-5pm each day (or earlier if finished).
The Class
The Bow Boxer Shorts (designed by Matchy Matchy Sewing Club) are an easy and fun sew. A perfect make for cool girls in hot weather. These basic, breezy shorts are inspired by traditional boxers with a straight fit. The pattern includes two views, mid rise and high rise, both with a 3" (8 cm) and 5" (13 cm) inseam. Finished with small side slits and sweet bows, these comfortable elastic waist shorts are sure to keep you feeling cool and relaxed in and out of the house.
The Bow Boxer Shorts are designed to have simple shapes and easy construction to take the overwhelm out of sewing and to help you find the joy of discovery.
This pattern is size-inclusive and is designed to fit hip measurements between 34”-67” (sizes XXS to 6XL).
You'll leave with finished shorts, a ton of new sewing skills, and the confidence to tackle your next project!
Skill Level
This class is intended for Absolute Beginners - it's totally ok if you've never touched a sewing machine before! We will start on day one by covering the most basic of skills (threading the machine and simple stitching) and build up from there. Our Absolute Beginner classes are a great way to get comfortable over two full days and begin your sewing journey with confidence and support. :)
What You’ll Learn

What’s Included
You will need to purchase fabric, elastic, and thread in the shop before the class (and you should leave time to pre-wash your fabric). Come by and we'll help you pick out something suitable that matches your style! We have lots of fabrics that would look super as a pair of boxer shorts.
The sewing pattern is included in the cost of the class and will be printed for you when you arrive. You'll also receive a digital file (and instructions) so you can re-use the pattern as many times as you want in the future.
If you have your own sewing machine and want to use it, feel free to bring it with you (just make sure you have all the components including bobbins, foot pedal, etc). Please reach out if you have any questions about what you need to bring.
