Confident Beginner: Hallon Dress - August 9 & 10

This class will run Saturday and Sunday, August 9 & 10, from 11am-5pm each day (or earlier if finished). 

The Class

The Hallon Dress (designed by Paradise Patterns) is a happy, swingy dress! Wearing it makes you feel like a summer day.

View A has a very relaxed fit, and a lovely ruffled hem. The back sits low and loose, so the shape of your back can be seen. 

View B has a straighter fit, with no back gathers so it sits closer to your back. It also has side seam slits. 

This pattern is size-inclusive and is designed to fit chest measurements between 31”-59”.

You'll leave with a finished dress, a ton of new sewing skills, and the confidence to tackle your next project!

Skill Level

This class is intended for Confident Beginners - you should know how to thread a sewing machine, wind the bobbin, and do basic stitching. It's ok if you haven't sewn a garment or used a sewing pattern before - but some of the techniques involved (like sewing the bias bound neckline and adding gathers) could be tricky if you don’t feel confident in your basic sewing skills.

What You’ll Learn

This class will cover the following techniques:

✿ Gathering fabric

✿ Sewing darts

✿ Sewing french seams

✿ And more! :)

What’s Included

You will need to purchase fabric and thread in the shop before the class (and you should leave time to pre-wash your fabric). Come by and we'll help you pick out something suitable that matches your style! 

The sewing pattern is included in the cost of the class and will be printed for you when you arrive. You'll also receive a digital file (and instructions) so you can re-use the pattern as many times as you want in the future.

If you have your own sewing machine and want to use it, feel free to bring it with you (just make sure you have all the components including bobbins, foot pedal, etc). Please reach out if you have any questions about what you need to bring.
