I love this fabric because it has the good qualities of both linen and cotton - a slightly textured look, durability, and ease of sewing. It also wrinkles quite a bit less than linen when washed (I pull my Essex garments right out of the dryer and don't feel the need to iron them). Essex has some structure to it and works well for bottoms and tops alike.
