Intermediate: Bralette & Panties, October 31 & November 1

This class will run Saturday, October 31st & Sunday, November 1st from 9am-4pm each day (or earlier if finished).

THE CLASS

Sew your own bralette & panty set!

The Brooklyn Bralette is a simple yet stylish design that features stretch lace cups and a supportive band. It’s a great project for learning how to work with stretch fabrics and foldover elastic.

The Barker Panty is a basic, mid-rise brief with side panels. The waistline and leg openings are finished with panty elastic.

You'll leave this class with a finished set, a ton of new skills, and the confidence to start working on your next project.

This pattern is size-inclusive and is designed to fit bust measurements up to between 28-50 inches and hip measurements between 33-59 inches.

SKILL LEVEL

This class is intended for Intermediate sewers - you should feel very comfortable threading a sewing machine, winding the bobbin, stitching in a straight line and backtacking, and hemming. You should also have sewn at least a couple garments and be comfortable using a sewing pattern.

If you want to take this class but you don't have these skills yet, you can sign up for our Learn to Sew Series (or another Absolute Beginner class) to start building a strong foundation of sewing skills!

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

This class will cover the following skills:

✿ Sewing with 4-way stretch fabrics (including stretch mesh)
✿ Working with different elastic types (picot, wide, and foldover elastic)
✿ Topstitching on knits
✿ Working with linings
✿ Understanding sewing machine tension
✿ Clean finish techniques to finish seams without a serger
✿ And lots more!

WHAT'S INCLUDED

All materials are included in the cost of this class! You do not need to purchase anything additional. You'll get a full kit to sew both the Brooklyn and Barker (color will be determined based on availability). You'll also get your own copy of the book Sew Lingerie, which includes sewing techniques and 11 size inclusive lingerie and swimwear patterns. 

The printed PDF patterns are also included in the cost of the class and will be ready for you when you arrive. The digital file and instructions are included in your Sew Lingerie book.

If you have your own sewing machine and want to use it, feel free to bring it with you (just make sure you have all the components including bobbins, foot pedal, etc). If you prefer, you can use one of our studio machines.

This class will be taught by Taylor.
