Confident Beginner: Learn to Quilt! - December 6 & 7

This class will run Saturday, December 6, and Sunday, December 7 from 11am-4pm each day.

Sometimes our workshops end a little early, because we allot plenty of time to ensure everyone gets to finish their project!

THE CLASS

Learn to quilt! Quilting is a skill that can be used for sewing unique and detailed garments, accessories, home projects, and, of course, actual quilts. ;)

In this workshop, we'll sew a patchwork house quilt block (the one in the product image) that can be used as a wall hanging, trivet, or art piece.

SKILL LEVEL

This class is intended for confident beginners - you should know how to thread the sewing machine, wind the bobbin, and sew in a (relatively) straight line. It's ok if you've never completed a project or used a sewing pattern before. We'll provide lots of guidance and support to ensure a successful and confidence-boosting experience. Those with more skills are welcome to take this class as well and learn to quilt!

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

This class will cover the following skills:

✿ Recommended quilting tools
✿ Cutting and pressing techniques
✿ Sewing nested seams
✿ Using batting
✿ Sewing neat seam intersections
✿ Machine quilting
✿ Sewing binding
✿ And more!

WHAT'S INCLUDED

All consumables (fabric, thread, and batting) are included in the cost of the class. We'll send an email with color options before the class start date.

Tools, such as cutting mat, rotary cutter and quilting ruler, are not included. They are recommended (not required). If you'd like to purchase them as an add on, you can do that here.

If you have your own sewing machine and want to use it, feel free to bring it with you (just make sure you have all the components including bobbins, foot pedal, etc). Please reach out if you have any questions about what you need to bring.

This class will be taught by Shannon and Madee. 👯
