This class will run Saturday, November 8 from 11am-6pm
Sometimes our workshops end a little early, because we allot plenty of time to ensure everyone gets to finish their garment!
THE CLASS
The Ruby Vest by Sydney Graham is the ultimate layering piece and is completely reversible. Multiple customization options allow you to truly make the vest of your dreams. Wear it over a dress, blouse, sweater, or long sleeve tee - you can even make a lightweight version to wear on its own as a top!
You'll leave with a finished garment, a ton of new skills, and the confidence to start working on your next sewing project.
This pattern is size-inclusive and is designed to fit chest measurements from 31" to 54".
Please note:We will not be sewing a quilted Ruby Vest in this class. We do have some great options such as boiled wools to make a cozy winter version of the vest, if you choose!
SKILL LEVEL
This class is intended for Confident Beginners - It's ok if you haven't sewn a garment or used a sewing pattern before. This project is simple enough to be a great intro to using sewing patterns, but has enough skill building elements (like bias binding) to help you level up your skill set.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
This class will cover the following skills:
✿ Taking your own measurements ✿ Using and adjusting a sewing pattern ✿ Making and using bias binding and ties ✿ Inserting snaps (if desired) ✿ Sewing a reversible garment ✿ And more!
WHAT'S INCLUDED
The Ruby Vest sewing pattern is included in the cost of the class and will be printed for you when you arrive. You'll also receive a digital file (and instructions) so you can reuse the pattern as many times as you want in the future.
You will need to purchase fabric and notions in the shop before the class (and you should leave time to pre-wash your fabric). Come by and we'll help you pick out something suitable that matches your style!
If you have your own sewing machine and want to use it, feel free to bring it with you (just make sure you have all the components including bobbins, foot pedal, etc). If you prefer, you can use one of our studio machines.
