Special Serger Techniques: Hemming Knits with the Flatlock Stitch, July 15

This class will run Wednesday, July 15, from 1-3pm.
Is your closet full of t-shirts that are too long? Do you want a hem that stretches with the knit? Do you want to go beyond finishing raw edges with your serger? As long as you know how to thread your serger, this is your class. :)
What You'll Learn:
✿ How to set up you serger for a flatlock stitch
✿ Tips and tricks when flatlocking
✿ How to hem a t-shirt with the flatlock stitch
✿ Other applications for the flatlock stitch
What to Bring:
✿ Serger, manual, foot control and any accessories
✿ One or more t-shirts that you would like to hem
✿ Contrasting or matching thread for the shirts to be hemmed (you'll need three serger cones/spools, but only one of the threads will show on the outside of tee)
✿ Any feet that came with your serger
This class will be taught by Kristin of the Material Girls.
This class is open to adults ages 16 and up.
⭐ You must know how to thread and sew with your serger before signing up for this class!

Classes and private lessons are non-refundable.
As a small business, we rely on sewing classes as part of our financial strategy. Our classes often fill up far in advance, and it can be difficult to fill a spot on short notice.
Of course we understand that things come up (even last minute!), so we ask that you read and agree to this policy before signing up for a class.
If you are no longer able to attend a class you signed up for, please email us at hi@openstudiosewing.com to let us know. If your class has a waitlist, we will do our best to fill your spot. If we are able to fill it before the class date, we'll issue you a refund in the form of store credit or to your original payment method. Store credit can be used for retail purchases or for future classes, and does not expire.
If we're not able to fill your spot, we will not be able to issue a refund.
If you are in a multi-session class and need to miss a day, you will not be able to make up the missed class. You're welcome to work on your project at home or book studio time to work on your own during shop open hours, or a private lesson (depending on availability) to get support to catch up.
